Rebels Take Matt Dumba In WHL Bantam Draft

RED DEER, AB - Brent Sutter, President/Owner of the Red Deer Rebels Hockey Club, announced today they have selected ---------defenceman Matt Dumba with their first pick, 4th overall, in the 2009 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft. Dumba played 'AAA' Bantam with the Calgary Bronks of the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League.

Dumba played in 33 games this season, scoring 20 goals 18 assists for 38 points. He also had 96 minutes in penalties. Dumba also participated in the 2009 Alberta Cup. He was named the Most Valuable Player and Top Defenceman in the South Division of the AMBHL this season.
