Hamilton Bulldogs News Release

Hamilton, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs recorded their third shutout in a row with a 3-0 win over the Toronto Marlies in front of 6,092 fans at Copps Coliseum. The Bulldogs' shutout streak reached 198 minutes and 51 seconds, while Cedrick Desjardins' shutout streak reached 158 minutes and 51 seconds. Both are new franchise records for the hockey club.

The ‘Dogs opened the game's scoring at 18:35 of the opening period. Yannick Weber fed a pass to Brock Trotter, who skated into the Marlies' zone. Trotter opted to shoot the puck rather than pass to a teammate. The shot beat Toronto starting goaltender Adam Munro through the pads.

Hamilton took a 2-0 lead at 18:35 of the middle frame. P.K. Subban received the puck from J.T. Wyman before skating into the middle of the ice and snapping a shot that beat Munro over the right shoulder.

Subban added an empty net shorthanded goal at 19:08 of the final frame. While in the Bulldogs' zone, Subban flipped the puck high into the air and all the way down the ice and into the Marlies' empty net.

The Bulldogs travel to Toronto for a rematch with the Marlies tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. at Ricoh Coliseum.
