
Blades Riding Franchise Record Unbeaten Streak

Florida Everblades News Release
The Florida Everblades swept the Greenville Grrrowl (4-1, 2-1) at BI-LO Center in Greenville this past Friday and Saturday and upended the Pee Dee Pride 3-0 in Pee Dee on Sunday. With the three wins Florida moved into first place in the ECHL's Southeast Division. The Everblades extended their current unbeaten streak to thirteen games (11-0-2) and their current winning streak to seven games. The Everblades take on the Columbus Cottonmouths at TECO Arena on Tuesday night at 7:30 PM. Florida then battles the Columbia Inferno at TECO Arena on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 PM. All 72 regular season games can be heard on Sportsradio 770 AM, NewsRadio 1660 AM and on the Internet at www.floridaeverblades.com with the "Voice of the Everblades" Mark Miller calling the play-by-play. 'The Gerry Fleming Coaches Show' presented by Stevie Tomato's Sportspage on Sportsradio 770 AM airs on 770 AM from 6:30 - 7:30 PM on Monday nights.
UPCOMING EVENTS/PROMOTIONS AT TECO ARENA: On Monday, December 30th Champions On Ice visits TECO Arena. On New Year's Eve, Tuesday, December 31st the Everblades host Tux n' Pucks and battle the Columbus Cottonmouths at 7:30 PM. The first 4000 fans through the doors will receive a noisemaker and an Everblades 2003 calendar courtesy of the Florida Everblades, Direct Impressions and The Art Chicks. GAME NOTES: The Everblades and Cottonmouths will meet for the fifth time this season. Florida holds a 1-1-2 record against Columbus this season and a 0-1-1 record at TECO. Columbus currently ranks in 5th place in the Southeast Division standings while Florida ranks first in the Southeast. Florida holds a 6-3-2 record all-time against the Cottonmouths and a 3-1-1 record at TECO Arena. Columbus forward Brent Cullaton leads the team in scoring with 12-24-36. The Cottonmouths power play ranks 4th in the ECHL and their penalty kill ranks 27th.

Ryan Murphy scored with :31 seconds remaining as the Florida Everblades defeated the Greenville Grrrowl 2-1 in front of 5,204 at the BI LO Center in Greenville, SC.
Sunday, December 29th @ Pee Dee 3-0 W
Marty Johnston scored twice and Rob Zepp stopped all 31 shots he faced as the Everblades defeated the Pee Dee 3-0 at the Florence Civic Center.

ECHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION: The Everblades ECHL player of the week nomination is forward Ryan Murphy. The Van Nuys, California native registered four goals and one assist this past weekend and had a +4 rating. Murphy notched the game winning goal in the Blades 4-1 win on Friday night and followed it up with a goal with just :31 seconds to play in Florida's 2-1 win on Saturday night. Murphy also assisted on the game winning goal in Sunday's 3-0 shutout of the Pride.
ECHL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION: The Everblades ECHL goaltender of the week nomination is Rob Zepp. The Newmarket, Ontario native was 2-0-0 this past week. Zepp stopped 62 of 63 shots in the two wins including a 3-0 shutout this past Sunday.
