LAST WEEK: The Pride went 1-2-0 for the week, losing to Roanoke and Florida and defeating Augusta. Pee Dee is 17-10-5 for 39 points and is in third place in the Southeast Division, trailing first-place Florida by four points.

Friday, December 27 @ Roanoke Express 5 PRIDE 3

A pair of first period goals and a power-play goal just 1:11 into the second gave Roanoke a 3-0 lead. But, the Pride would regroup. Goals by Greg Schmidt and Wes Goldie just 1:06 apart midway through the period made it a one-goal game, and an Allan Sirois power-play tally with 1:10 left in the second tied the game at three. Six minutes into the third, a long-range shot by Frank Novock eluded Pride goaltender Matt Underhill for the game-winning goal. Mike Peron added an empty netter to set the final.

Saturday, December 28 v. Augusta PRIDE 6 Lynx 2

Wes Goldie scored a pair of goals just 17 seconds apart in the first period to get the Pride rolling, and they would never look back. Matt Reid and Ryan Knox added second-period tallies, while Gregor Krajnc scored two goals in the final stanza to set the final. Greg Schmidt, Kyle Kidney and Eric Naud all had a pair of assists.

Sunday, December 29 v. Florida Everblades 3 PRIDE 0

The Pride were shutout for the second time this season, and both have come against the Everblades. George Awada and Marty Johnston scored first-period goals for Florida, and Johnston added his second of the day early in the second period to set the final. Despite outshooting Florida 31-18, the Pride could not get a puck past Rob Zepp.

Pee Dee and South Carolina meet for the fifth time this season on New Year's Eve. The Pride are 1-1-2 against the Stingrays this season, including 0-1-1 at North Charleston. In the teams' last meeting, Pee Dee came back to win despite twice trailing by three goals. South Carolina enters the week 19-10-3 for 41 points and is in second place in the Southeast Division, two points behind first-place Florida and two points ahead of the third-place Pride.

Friday, January 3 v. South Carolina 7:00 p.m. at the Lion's Den

The Pride and Stingrays play the back end of their home-and-home series in Florence. South Carolina has won both games at the Civic Center this season, by identical 5-4 scores, and both have been in shootouts.

PROMOTIONS: It's Beach Night at the Lion's Den, with a post-game concert featuring General Johnson and the Chairmen of the Board. Fans are encouraged to wear their Hawaiian shirts and sunglasses to the game. There will be a limbo contest on the ice, and volleyball in the stands.

Saturday, January 4 v. Augusta 7:30 p.m. at the Lion's Den

Pee Dee and Augusta meet for the fourth of nine times this season. The home team has won each of the first three meetings, with the Pride outscoring the Lynx 12-3 in the two meetings in Florence. Augusta is 10-20-1 for 21 points and is in seventh place in the Southeast Division.

Pee Dee wraps up its busiest week of the season so far at the BI-LO Center in a Sunday matinee. The Pride are 3-0-0 against the Grrrowl this season, including 2-0-0 in Greenville. The Grrrowl are in fifth place in the Southeast Division with a record of 15-15-3 for 33 points. They are 0-3-1 in their last four games.

OTHER NOTES

HOME SWEET HOME

Starting with Friday's game against South Carolina, the Pride will play eight of their next 10 games at home. Included in that stretch is a five-game homestand which will be the team's longest in two years.

THREE MUSKETEERS

The line of Matt Reid, Greg Schmidt and Mike Glumac sit at the top of the Pride scoring list. The trio has combined for 40 goals and 72 assists for 112 points. They are also a combined plus-84. The three players are the top three players in the league in plus-minus (Reid +30, Glumac +29 and Schmidt +25).
