Trenton Devils News Release
The Trenton Titans (15-12-5) finished off three games in as many nights by taking five out of six points. The Titans ran their regulation unbeaten streak to six games (3-0-3). This week they continue a stretch of five straight games against Northeast Division opponents when they play in Roanoke (19-12-2) tonight (December 30th). The Express have won three straight, but the Titans are 2-0-2 against the Express, and won the only meeting in Roanoke 4-0 on December 22nd thanks to 42 saves from Cody Rudkowsky. On Tuesday night the Titans head to Greensboro to face the Generals (20-8-4). This is the third and final meeting in Greensboro between the teams, with the Generals holding a 2-0 series advantage. On Friday night the Express return to Trenton for the sixth of nine meetings this season, and finally on Saturday night the Titans wrap up the week against the Johnstown Chiefs (12-18-4). The Titans won the only meeting with the Chiefs 3-1 in Trenton on December 26th.
"Player of the Week â Tyler Beechey":
Tyler Beechey notched his first three professional goals and added five assists in three games as the Titans went 2-0-1 last week. He scored his first two goals and added an assist in the 3-1 win over Johnstown last Thursday night. On Friday night he added two more assists, and scored the game-tying goal with 31 seconds left in regulation in a 5-4 overtime loss to Atlantic City. On Saturday night he set up a pair of game-tying goals in the 5-4 overtime win over the Bullies. Beechey finished the week a +3, and has had four consecutive multiple point efforts totaling 10 points (3 goals, 7 assists).
"Zultek Continues To Lead The Way":
Matt Zultek continued his strong play and extended his career high point streak to six games with a goal and four assists in three games last week. During his streak, he has five goals, and six assists. Zultek's 13 goals are second only to Adam Edinger (currently on loan to Hershey) who has 18, and his four game-winners pace the squad.
Rookie Davis Makes Impact In "Garden State Cup Series":
Rookie forward Aaron Davis joined the Titans last week and etched his name in the Titans-Atlantic City rivalry. On Saturday night his first professional goal, in overtime, led the Titans to a 5-4 win at Sovereign Bank Arena. Davis joined the Titans after beginning his 2002-03 season at Lake Superior State.
Titans In The Community:
Due to the early week road trip and New Year's Holiday there will be no community appearances this week.
