SYRACUSE, NY - Orelvis Martinez first career Triple-A hit was a two-run home run, one of 18 hits for the Buffalo Bisons in their 13-4 victory over the Syracuse Mets on Tuesday night at NBT Bank Stadium.

Addison Barger started the offense for the Bisons tonight with a lead-off double on the first pitch of the game. Ernie Clement singled to right field to drive in Barger, putting the Bisons out in front 1-0. After a single by Spencer Horwitz and a hit-by-pitch to Davis Schneider, the bases were loaded for Jordan Luplow. Luplow picked up an RBI on a force-out scoring Clement to extend the Bisons lead to 2-0.

Wes Parsons pitched a flawless bottom of the first inning for the Herd, as he retired the side in order while recording a strikeout.

In the bottom of the second inning, a single by Luke Voit set up an Abraham Almonte two-run home run to even the score at 2-2.

The Bisons retorted in the top of the third inning, as Clement and Horwitz each hit singles to lead-off the inning. Schneider hit a three-run home run to right field to give the Herd a 5-2 lead.

The scoring would not end there, as Luplow worked a walk, followed by an Orelvis Martinez two-run home run. It was Martinez's first home run, hit, RBI, and run at the Triple-A level. Otto Lopez tripled to center field and was later driven in by Cameron Eden to give the Bisons a commanding 8-2 advantage.

In the top of the fourth inning, Clement singled and stole second base. Horwitz drove him in with a single to supplement the Bisons lead to 9-2.

The Mets responded in the bottom of the fourth inning, as Danny Mendick hit a two-run home run to cut the Herds lead to 9-4.

Zach Pop pitched a scoreless bottom of the fifth inning, as he retired the Mets in order 1-2-3. He was credited with the win for his efforts.

Hagen Danner came on to pitch the bottom of the sixth inning and got the first batter he faced to strike out, followed by two fly-ball outs. The righty was aided by a home run-robbing catch by Eden against Luke Ritter in center field.

Matt Peacock and Jimmy Burnette pitched a scoreless bottom of the seventh and eighth inning respectively to hold the Bisons lead at 9-4.

In the top of the ninth inning, the Bisons would add to their lead as Eden singled to drive in Lopez, giving them a 10-4 advantage. Barger doubled to left field to drive in Tyler Heineman and Eden, extending the Bisons lead to 12-4. Clement followed that up with a double to drive in Barger, plating another run for the Herd to make their lead 13-4.

Thomas Hatch came on to pitch the bottom of the ninth inning for the Bisons, as the Herd secured a 13-4 victory.

Tomorrow, the Bisons will face the Mets for the second game of their six-game series at 6:35 p.m. at NBT Bank Stadium.
