Bridgeport Islanders News Release
BRIDGEPORT, CT - The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, will begin a three-game-in-three-day weekend when they visit the Binghamton Senators this Friday, April 7th at 7:05 p.m. The Sound Tigers will also host the Hartford Wolf Pack this Saturday at 7:05 p.m. and visit the Portland Pirates this Sunday at 4:05 p.m. All Sound Tigers games are web-cast live at www.soundtigers.com. Fans can also watch all AHL games live on the Internet via the B2 Networks pay per view.
The Sound Tigers head into this weekend with a magic number of four points gained by them or lost by Binghamton to clinch a berth in the 2006 AHL Calder Cup Playoffs, which means they can punch their ticket to the postseason with a regulation win versus the Senators this Friday.
This Saturday will be the Sound Tigers' final home game of the 2005-06 regular season at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard. The Connecticut Post will giveaway Sound Tigers team photos, the Port Jefferson Ferry will present an auction of game-worn jerseys and there will be a Curtiss Ryan Honda shoot to win a Honda Ridgeline.
Should the Sound Tigers secure a spot in the playoffs, they are tentatively scheduled to host their first postseason home game on either Saturday, April 22nd or Sunday, April 23rd. Sound Tigers playoff tickets and Playoff Gift Packs-- which include four tickets, an autographed puck and four SportsCenter of CT activity passes --are on sale now. In addition, Sound Tigers fans who commit to tickets for the first two rounds of the 2006 playoffs and 2006-07 full-season tickets by this Friday, April 7th will receive free parking for the 2006-07 regular season. The Port Jefferson Ferry will also hold the last boat until 15 minutes after the end of Sound Tigers weekend playoff games or 10:30 p.m., whichever comes first.
Information regarding all Sound Tigers ticket packages, promotions and upcoming games is available on-line at www.soundtigers.com, by emailing info@soundtigers.com or by calling 203-334-GOAL.
