Delmore Named To 2006 AHL First All-Star Team

Syracuse, NY (April 6, 2006) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that Crunch defenseman Andy Delmore was named to the 2006 AHL First All- Star Team. Delmore is the first Crunch player in franchise history to be named to the First All-Star Team.

Delmore has appeared in 62 games with the Crunch this season, registering an AHL leading 67 points (17g, 50a) and is currently ninth overall in the league in assists. He is ranked first among defenseman in goals, tied for first in assists and second with 11 power play goals.

The LaSalle, Ontario native, has re-written many of the Crunch's franchise records this season. His 67 points set a record for most points in a season by a defenseman, previously held by Chris O'Sullivan (1999-00) and Radim Bicanek (2000-01) and his 50 assists surpass O'Sullivan for most assist in a season. Delmore tied a franchise record with four goals and added an assist to lead Syracuse to a 9-4 victory over Binghamton at the Utica Auditorium in front of 3.066 fans. Three of his goals came by way of the man advantage, setting a franchise record for most power play goals in a game. His four goals against Binghamton, three of which came in a time 1:38 time span, makes him just the third player in franchise history to score four goals in a game (Steve Kariya February 18, 2000 vs. Albany & Mark Hartigan - January 3, 2004 vs. Albany).

Delmore is the fourth player in franchise history to be named to a post-season All-Star Team (Michael Gaul - Second Team 2000-01, Radim Bicanek - Second Team 2000-01 and J.F. Labbe - Second Team 2001-02).
