HARTFORD, April 6, 2006: Hartford Wolf Pack defenseman Thomas Pock has been named to the 2005-06 American Hockey League Second All-Star Team. Pock joins goaltender Wade Flaherty (Manitoba), fellow defenseman Bryan Helmer (Grand Rapids), left wing Jiri Hudler (Grand Rapids), center Keith Aucoin (Lowell) and right wing Dustin Penner (Portland) on the 2005-06 AHL Second All-Star Team.
Pock, a second-year pro, joined the Wolf Pack after skating with the UMass-Amherst Minutemen. The 6'2", 205-pound 24-year-old Klagenfurt, Austria native, has played in 65 games with the Pack this season, netting 15 goals and 45 assists for 60 points and earning a plus-16 rating. Pock currently ranks tied for second among AHL defensemen in scoring this season and was the first Wolf Pack defenseman to record four points in a game, a feat he accomplished three times this season. The blueliner, who represented Hartford at the 2006 Rbk Hockey AHL All-Star Classic, also skated with the New York Rangers (NHL) in four games this year, recording one goal and one assist for two points.
Pock will receive a custom designed crystal award in recognition of his selection to the 2005-06 AHL Second All-Star Team.
The Wolf Pack return to action tomorrow night, Friday, April 7 (7:00 p.m. faceoff), with a home match-up against Atlantic Division leader the Portland Pirates. Then on Saturday night, the Pack travel to Bridgeport to take on the Sound Tigers (7:05 p.m.) in a GEICO Connecticut Cup showdown and face the Lowell Lock Monsters the following day at home (4:00 p.m.).
The AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack hockey club is part of Madison Square Garden LP. Cablevision Systems Corporation owns a controlling interest in MSG LP, which also includes the New York Rangers (NHL), New York Knicks (NBA), the New York Liberty (WNBA), the MSG Network, Fox Sports Net and the Madison Square Garden arena complex.
