Lowell, Mass. - The American Hockey League announced today that Lowell Lock Monsters C Keith Aucoin has been named to the 2005-06 2nd All-Star Team. The selection came from balloting submitted by media and players from around the league.

Aucoin has been dominant for the Lock Monsters this season, tying franchise records for assists (51) and points (77) in a single season. He recently returned to the Merrimack Valley from the Carolina Hurricanes, who recalled the Chelmsford native for the second time this season back on March 25th. Aucoin currently has a 37-point lead over his next closest teammate, and ranks 10th in the AHL in scoring.

Aucoin is the second Monsters player to be named to an All-Star Team, and the second in as many seasons. Chuck Kobasew was named a 1st Team All-Star at right wing in 2004-05.

Lowell continues their road swing with a pair of divisional games this weekend. On Saturday night they head to Portland to take on the first place Pirates at 7:05 p.m. On Sunday, it's on to Hartford for a 4:05 p.m. match with the Wolf Pack. Both games can be heard live on 980 WCAP, and viewed through B2 Networks, the official broadband provider of the AHL, with the "Voice of the Lock Monsters" Ryan Johnston.
