New York, April 6, 2006 -- On Thursday the Rangers recalled center Jarkko Immonen from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL. Immonen will make his NHL debut for the Rangers in Thursday night's game against the Islanders at Madison Square Garden.

Immonen, 23, was acquired from Toronto as part of the March 3, 2004, trade involving Brian Leetch. In 74 games with Hartford this season, he has 30 goals and 40 assists for 70 points and has been the top scorer among Rangers prospects who have spent the entire 2005-06 season in Hartford.

Earlier this season, Immonen set the Hartford franchise record of five goals in one game. He accomplished that feat on Feb. 4 at Portland in a 6-0 Wolf Pack win.

Immonen, a native of Rantasalmi, Finland, will enter the Rangers lineup as a replacement for center Steve Rucchin, who injured his foot on March 30 at Ottawa and is listed as day-to-day.
