Hrdel Headed To Johnstown

Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today that they have reassigned left wing Zbynek Hrdel to their ECHL affiliate, the Johnstown Chiefs.

Hrdel has played in 46 games for the Falcons this season collecting five goals and 10 assists for 15 points. Hrdel has also played in 13 games for the Chiefs this season collecting six goals and five assists for 11 points. The 6-foot-4, 195-pound native of Pisek, Czech Republic is in his first season of professional hockey after spending the previous three seasons with Rimouski of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Hrdel was selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 9th round (286th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

The Falcons return home this weekend for a pair of home games when they host the Manchester Monarchs on Friday, April 7 at 7:35 PM, followed by the Providence Bruins on Saturday, April 8 starting at 7:05 PM. All games can be heard live on the Falcons Hockey Network, WMAS AM 1450, as "The Voice" of the Falcons John Michael handles the play-by-play duties. All games can also be seen live through the B-2 Network for only $6.00.
