
Goalie returns to Rivermen

Peoria, IL (April 6, 2006) - Peoria Rivermen General Manager of Hockey Operations Kevin McDonald announced today that the Rivermen parent club St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League (NHL) has returned netminder Chris Beckford-Tseu (BEHK-fuhrd-SOO) on loan to the Rivermen and activated goaltender Jason Bacashihua (buh-CASH-oo-uh) off of its' injured reserve list.
Beckford-Tseu, 21, was recalled to St. Louis under emergency conditions on April 2 to replace goaltender Patrick Lalime, who was injured in the Blues' game on April 1 at Nashville. Beckford-Tseu has appeared in 13 games for the Rivermen so far this season, posting a 4-4-1 record along with a 3.17 goals-against average. The 6-2, 201-pound netminder has also skated in 19 games with the Alaska Aces of the ECHL this year, collecting a 16-1-2 record along with a 1.87 goals-against average. He has been named the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week three times this season, becoming only the fourth goalie in League history to receive the award three times in one season. Beckford-Tseu was also named the starter for the National Conference for the 2005-06 ECHL All-Star Game.
Bacashihua, 23, suffered a shoulder injury in the Blues' game on January 20 at Columbus. He has posted a record of 3-5-0 and a goals-against average of 3.74 in 12 appearances with the Blues this season. The Garden City, Michigan, native has a record of 9-4-0 along with a 2.63 goals-against average in 15 games with Peoria this season. He earned AHL Player of the Week honors for the period ending October 30, 2005, collecting three wins, along with a 0.33 goals-against average and a .985 save percentage.
