Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild will play their second and final preseason game this afternoon against the Kansas City Mavericks, at 4:30 pm at Allen Event Center Community Rink.
The Americans put up a big rally last night after going down 3-0 after twenty minutes of play. Braylon Shmyr, Casey Pierro-Zabotel and Kevin Sundher got it to even after two periods. Miles Liberati scored his biggest goal in a red sweater shorthanded late in the third last night to give the Americans the lead for good.
Jeremy Brodeur got the start last night for the Americans and was solid over the last 40 minutes stopping the final 24 shots he faced.
"Even though we were down by three after the first period, we knew we were still in the game," said Brodeur. "With our lineup we're never out of a game. It was fun to watch the guys in front of me make some pretty exciting plays."
Both David Makowski and Joel Chouinard sat out of last night's game. Expect to see the top two on the D-chart in the lineup tonight.
