
Admirals to Face Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in First Round of 2011 Calder Cup Playoffs

NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk Admirals will open the 2011 Calder Cup Playoffs with a best-of-seven series against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Friday, April 15, at 7:05 p.m. in Wilkes-Barre Township, Pennsylvania.
The Admirals finished the regular season with a 39-26-9-6 record, good for 93 points and a fourth place finish in the American Hockey League's East Division. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton finished the 2010-11 season with the best record in the American Hockey League, going 58-21-0-1 for 117 points and the #1 seed in the East Division. Norfolk won three of eight matchups against the Penguins in the 2010-11 regular season head-to-head matchup. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton won two games in a shootout.
Playoff hockey returns to Norfolk Scope Arena for the first time in four years on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, April 19, 20 and 22, for Games Three, Four and Five (if necessary) in the series against the Monarchs.

In order for season ticket holders to guarantee their seats for the playoffs, packages must be purchased by Monday. Individual playoff tickets will go on sale at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. These tickets are only available at the Norfolk Scope Arena Box Office, all Ticketmaster Outlets, charge-by-phone at 1-800-745-3000 or online at ticketmaster.com.
All playoff games will be broadcast at 102.1-FM and 1490-AM The Game, 1021TheGame.com and ahllive.com.
