The Bulldogs returned the favor with a 3-0 shutout of the Barons December 17 in Oklahoma City. The Bulldogs are the AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens and won the North Division.
The Barons finished fifth in the West Division, but had more points than the fourth place team in the seven-team North Division. In that scenario, the fifth place team will take the fourth spot in the other division. Should the Barons advance in the first round, they will continue to play in the North Division.
