Hershey, PA (April 10, 2011) - Peter Holland scored twice, Nate Guenin tallied his second goal of the year, John Kurtz added the game-winner and Timo Pielmeier stopped 22 of 23 shots as the Syracuse Crunch defeated the Hershey Bears by a 4-1 score tonight at Giant Center in the club's last game of the 2010-11 season.

The win was the Crunch's third straight against Hershey, all at Giant Center, and gave them a 3-2-1-0 record against the two-time defending Calder Cup Champions this year to take the season series. It was also Syracuse's third victory in a row, pushing the club's record over its final 20 games to 15-5-0-0.

The Crunch came out looking to end their season on a high note and Holland helped that cause by giving the Crunch a 1-0 lead with just 1:09 left in the first period when he snapped a Rick Schofield centering feed past Nolan Schaefer.

The scored stayed that way until the 5:08 mark of the second, when Andrew Gordon collected the loose puck after a pileup in front of the net and swept it over the outstretched arms of Pielmeier to knot the score at 1-1.

The tie did not last long, however, as Kurtz answered for the Crunch exactly one minute later when he drove to the net down the right wing and slipped a backhand through Schaefer to make it a 2-1 game.

The Crunch added to their lead on a late-period power play opportunity. With just four seconds left in the man-advantage, Guenin took a feed from Eric Lampe and whipped a wrister from the right face-off circle to the top corner of the net to give Syracuse a 3-1 advantage with just four and a half minutes remaining in the second.

The score stayed that way until the Crunch capitalized on another power play opportunity after Hershey's Steve Pinizzotto was called for cross-checking and given a 10-minute misconduct with just under two minutes left in regulation, halting any chance the Bears had at a comeback.

Holland slipped in behind the defense, took a pass from Macenauer and made a slick forehand-to-backhand move, slipping the puck past Schaefer for his second of the contest and a 4-1 Crunch lead.

Pielmeier finished the season with a strong 22-save performance and picked up his 16th win of the season and sixth in his last seven starts.
