Abbotsford Heat News Release

TORONTO ON - The Abbotsford Heat finished their season on a sour note Sunday as Marcel Mueller scored three goals to lead the Toronto Marlies to a 6-0 victory over the Heat on Sunday afternoon in Toronto.

Josh Engel, Justin Hodgman and Mike McKegg also added goals, putting six pucks by rookie net minder Joni Ortio, who took the loss for Abbotsford. Fellow Finnish goalie Jussi Rynnas stopped all 23 Heat shots to earn the shutout.

Abbotsford finishes their season at 38-32-4-6 for 86 points, good for fourth place in the North Division. However, the Heat has failed to qualify for the playoffs as they were unable to catch Oklahoma City for the crossover playoff spot in the Western Conference.

The Abbotsford Heat would like to thank all Heat fans, sponsors and media partners for a great second season. Have a great off-season.
