B-Sens to Face the Manchester Monarchs in Round One

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators announced today, in conjunction with the American Hockey League, that the club will face the Manchester Monarchs in round one of the 2011 Calder Cup Playoffs.

The best of seven series will feature a 2-3-2 format, and kicks off at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester on Thursday, April 14.

The B-Sens clinched their first playoff berth since 2005 with a 2-1 overtime victory over the Norfolk Admirals on Wednesday, April 6. Binghamton finished the season with a record of 42-30-3-5, ending the regular season in fifth place in the East Division with 92 points. The B-Sens cross over from the East Division to compete in the Atlantic Division playoffs after finishing the 2010-11 season with more points than the fourth place team in the Atlantic, the Worcester Sharks.

The complete schedule for the 2011 Atlantic Division Semi-finals is as follows:

Game 1 - Thu., Apr. 14 - Binghamton at Manchester, 7:00

Game 2 - Fri., Apr. 15 - Binghamton at Manchester, 7:00

Game 3 - Sun., Apr. 17 - Manchester at Binghamton, 5:05

Game 4 - Tue., Apr. 19 - Manchester at Binghamton, 7:05

Game 5 - Wed., Apr. 20 - Manchester at Binghamton, 7:05 (if necessary)

Game 6 - Fri., Apr. 22 - Binghamton at Manchester, 7:00 (if necessary)

Game 7 - Sat., Apr. 23 - Binghamton at Manchester, 7:00 (if necessary)

Tickets for games 3 and 4 go on sale at noon tomorrow. Tickets are $18.75 for side seating, $17.75 for end seating.
