51s Even Series with 9-7 Win Sunday

Oklahoma City - The Las Vegas 51s erased a four-run deficit and scored eight straight runs on the way to a 9-7 win against the Oklahoma City Dodgers Sunday afternoon at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
The Dodgers built an early 5-1 lead before the 51s scored two runs in the sixth inning, four more in the seventh inning and added two more runs in the eighth inning in front of a crowd of 6,563.
Oklahoma City (21-14) started to rally in the ninth inning, scoring two runs, but Las Vegas held on to even the series between the teams, 1-1.
Sunday's loss ended the Dodgers' season-best winning streak at five games.
Las Vegas (19-17) scored the game's first run, also ending a streak of 11 straight games in which the Dodgers scored first.
Las Vegas outfielder Roger Bernadina tripled on a line drive to right field to bring home Travis Taijeron, who hit a one-out single, for a 1-0 51s lead in the second inning.
The Dodgers rallied with two outs in the bottom of the second inning to take a 3-1 lead.
Zach Walters drew a two-out walk then stole second base. Drew Maggi followed with a RBI single to right field to knot the game, 1-1. He advanced to second base on the throw home then stole third base.
He scored on a RBI single by Rico Noel.
Dodgers starting pitcher Zach Lee doubled down the right field line for his first hit of the season and to drive home Noel for a 3-1 Dodgers advantage.
In the bottom of the third inning, Corey Brown walked, stole second base and advanced to third base on a throwing error by 51s catcher Johnny Monell. Rob Segedin then hit a RBI single to put the Dodgers ahead, 4-1. A sacrifice bunt by Maggi later in the inning extended Oklahoma City's lead to 5-1.
The 51s cut into the Dodgers' lead in the top of the sixth inning on a RBI single by Monell. They added another run on a Dodgers error before Bernadina singled to load the bases. Lee then got Matt Reynolds and Marc Krauss to both strike out to escape the jam.
The 51s tied the game, 5-5, on a two-run homer by Dilson Herrera in the seventh inning. A sacrifice fly by Taijeron pushed Las Vegas ahead, 6-5, before a RBI double by Bernadina gave the 51s a 7-5 advantage. Bernadina went on to finish the game a home run shy of the cycle.
Las Vegas tacked on another run in the eighth inning thanks to back-to-back wild pitches by Dodgers reliever Jharel Cotton (3-3) before a RBI single by T.J. Rivera extended the 51s to a 9-5 lead.
The Dodgers started to rally in the ninth inning.
Alex Hassan, Micah Johnson and Austin Barnes hit consecutive singles to load the bases for Corey Brown. Brown hit a two-RBI single to right field to cut Las Vegas' lead to two runs. Las Vegas pitcher Paul Sewald then got Segedin and James Ramsey to both strike out to end the game.
Oklahoma City finished the game with a season-high five stolen bases, including two by Noel in the sixth inning.
Las Vegas reliever Erik Goeddel (1-1) got the win for the 51s, tossing two scoreless frames. Sewald earned his fifth save of the season.
Cotton was charged with the loss and a blown save, allowing six runs on five hits, three walks and had three strikeouts over two innings.
The 51s outhit the Dodgers, 13-11.
The series between the teams continues at 7:05 p.m. Monday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
