
Galloway and Andino Homer for New Orleans, But Zephyrs Lose 7-6 in El Paso

El Paso - The El Paso Chihuahuas scored three times in the ninth inning to stun the New Orleans Zephyrs 7-6 and take the second game of the four game series.
El Paso's Hunter Renfroe drilled a three run home run in the first inning. The Zephyrs rallied, Issac Galloway hooked a two run shot in the second inning to slice into the lead. The Zephyrs added a run in the third inning and Robert Andino hammered a two run home run in the fifth inning and the Zephyrs grabbed a 6-4 lead.
New Orleans starter Dylan Axelrod settled in after a slow start and worked five and a third innings allowing four runs, three earned on nine hits. The Zephyrs bullpen held the lead until the ninth.
Zephyrs reliever Jo Jo Reyes had allowed one run in his last eleven innings spanning six games. El Paso drew a lead-off walk and then five consecutive hits to erase the lead and give the Chihuahuas back to back walk off wins.
Jose Rodriguez pitched one inning to earn the win. Â
The Zephyrs (15-21) have dropped five consecutive games, matching a season high. New Orleans is also a season high six games under .500.
GAME NOTES
The Zephyrs activated Eric Jokisch from the disabled list. Miami optioned Nick Wittgren to New Orleans and he is expected to join the roster on Monday.
The 16 hits allowed by the Zephyrs is a season high.
The Zephyrs have dropped four consecutive day games and are 3-8 on the year.
The Zephyrs are 0-11 when allowing six or more runs in a game.
ON DECK
The Zephyrs continue the eight-game road-trip on Monday at 7:35pm in El Paso. The Zephyrs will start Chris Narveson (0-0, 4.50) against Jeremy Guthrie (1-5, 7.05). The game will be broadcast on WODT Fox Sports 1280 AM and streamed at iHeart Radio App.
The Zephyrs next home game will be Monday, May 23rd against Reno Aces. The Z's will be home for an eight game series.
