
Rush Announce Recent Acquisitions

Rapid City Rush News Release
(RAPID CITY, SD) - The Rapid City Rush has announced roster transactions that have taken place in the previous week. Joining the Rush roster are rookie goaltender Raphael Girard and defenseman Jonathan Narbonne. Girard comes to the Rush by virtue of a free agent signing, while Narbonne joins the Rush from the Missouri Mavericks to complete the trade earlier in the season for Jared Brown and future considerations.
Girard, a 22 year-old native of Saint-Hyancinthe, Quebec, begins his rookie season after four years at Harvard University in the NCAA. This season, he spent time as the back-up for Riley Gill with the Allen Americans, playing in 3 games and posting a 1-0-0 record with a 2.22 GAA and .925 save percentage. His first professional win came on December 3rd against the Tulsa Oilers, where he stopped 28 of 29 shots to capture the win.
Narbonne, a 22 year-old native of Laval, Quebec, enters his second year of professional hockey, also his second in the ECHL. Last season, as a rookie with the Gwinnett Gladiators. Narbonne played in 58 games, recording 17 points (2 goals, 15 assists). Prior to joining the Mavericks for 8 games, where he chipped in 3 assists, he played his first 17 games of the season with the Bakersfield Condors, adding 3 goals and 3 assists for 6 points to his pro totals. Before turning professional, Narbonne spent four seasons in the QMJHL with the Shawnigan Cataractes, the Moncton Wildcats, the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada, and Montreal Juniors, the latter two teams of which he spent as a teammate with current Rush goaltender Etienne Marcoux.
