
Seven Snappers Heading to All-Star Game

The Beloit Snappers landed seven players on the 2008 Midwest League Western Division All-Star Team. Steve Singleton, Garrett Olson, Danny Lehmann, Ben Revere, David Bromberg, Spencer Steedley and Steven Hirschfeld will be heading to this year's mid-season classic at the Dow Diamond in Midland, Michigan, home of the Great Lakes Loons on Tuesday, June 17th.
So far this season, the All-Stars stats include:
- Steve Singleton* (.314 AVG, 30 runs, 61 hits, 24 RBIs) - Garrett Olson* (.248 AVG, 24 runs, nine doubles, 30 RBIs) - Danny Lehmann (.273 AVG, 10 runs, 24 hits, three triples) - Ben Revere (.420 AVG, 22 runs, five triples, 16 stolen bases) - David Bromberg (3-3, 5.08 ERA, 65 strikeouts, 1.36 WHIP) - Spencer Steedley (2-2, 2.35 ERA, 40 strikeouts, .191 BAA) - Steven Hirschfeld (4-1, 1.20 ERA, 22 strikeouts, 1.20 WHIP)

Singleton (Western Division starting second baseman) was the Twins' 11th round pick in the 2006 First-Year Player draft out of the University of San Diego. Steve led the Appalachian League in triples (5) in 2006.
Olson (Western Division starting third baseman) was selected in the 4th round by the Twins in the 2006 First-Year Player draft. Garrett attended Franklin Pierce College where he was a two-time All-American and led his team in hits, runs, home runs, and total bases during his junior year.
Lehmann was drafted by the Twins in the 8th round of the 2007 First-Year Player draft out of Rice University. While attending Rice, Danny led the team in fielding percentage and committed only three errors in 66 games as a junior.
Revere was the Twins' first round pick in the 2007 First-Year Player draft out of Lexington Catholic High School in Kentucky. Ben was named 2006-2007 Gatorade Kentucky Baseball Player of the Year and 2007 Kentucky Mr. Baseball.
Bromberg was the Twins' 32nd round pick in the 2005 First-Year Player draft out of Santa Ana Junior College. David went 9-0 with a 2.78 ERA and 81 strikeouts last year for the Elizabethton Twins.
Steedley was drafted by Minnesota in the 25th round of the 2007 First-Year Player draft out of the University of North Carolina - Charlotte. Spencer finished the 2007 college season second on his team in innings pitched and strikeouts.
Hirschfeld was the Twins' 9th round pick in the 2007 First-Year Player draft from San Diego State University. Last season for the Elizabethton Twins, Steven had 20 strikeouts in 25.1 innings pitched.
The 2008 All-Stars were nominated and selected by the 14 managers in the Midwest League. The Field Staffs for the All-Star Game will be from the teams that are in first place in their respective division at the end of the first half.
