Cedar Rapids Kernels News Release
June 3, 2008 - The Cedar Rapids Kernels have three players heading to the 2008 MWL Summer All-Star Classic on June 17th at the Dow Diamond in Midland, MI hosted by the Great Lakes Loons.
First baseman Efren Navarro and pitchers Michael Anton and Ryan Brasier were selected as reserve players to the MWL Western All-Star Roster. The All-Stars were nominated and selected by the Field Managers of the 14 Midwest League Teams.
The Clinton LumberKings led the league with nine players selected as All-Stars including four starters. Due to the unbalanced division, the Quad Cities River Bandits will have their players on the Eastern Division team, even though they play in the MWL West.
The 44th Annual MWL All-Star Game will start at 6:05 pm and has been announced as a sellout at the Dow Diamond. The game can be heard over the internet at www.milb.com The opinions expressed in this release are those of the organization issuing it, and do not necessarily reflect the thoughts or opinions of OurSports Central or its staff.
