Zephyrs Come from Behind to Defeat Omaha 6-3

OMAHA, Nebraska - The New Orleans Zephyrs rallied to score five unanswered runs to come from behind and defeat the Omaha Storm Chasers 6-3 to snap a three game losing streak on Tuesday.

The Z's were out-hit 12-5 in the game but made the most of five walks, an error and a few misplays by Omaha.

The Z's scored the game's first run in the fifth inning. The Chasers answered with three in the bottom of the inning sending eight batters to the plate.

The Z's responded with a run in the sixth inning to cut the deficit to 3-2. New Orleans sent eight batters to the plate in the seventh scoring three runs on one hit. Bryan Petersen drilled a two run single to give the Z's the lead.

Petersen led the team with three hits and two RBI in the contest. The Zephyrs added an unearned run in the eighth inning. The Z's scored the run without the benefit of a hit.

Jared Rogers (3-2) earned the win pitching six innings allowed three runs on nine hits. Rett Varner entered in the ninth to get the final out and his first save of the season.

The power throwing Yordani Ventura (2-2) hit 99 on the radar gun several times throughout the night but suffered the defeat. He worked six innings allowed five runs on three hits.

The Zephyrs improve to 42-44 with the victory.

Game Notes - The Marlins promoted Donovan Solano to the Marlins and have optioned outfielder Jordan Brown to the Z's. Solano had a hit in all 17 games for the Zephyrs. The PCL named its 2013 All-Star Team and Chris Hatcher will represent the Z's. Hatcher leads the PCL with 24 saves.
