Castro Activated From DL, Laffey Released By Isotopes

Right-handed pitcher Peter Moylan rejoins the Isotopes today, July 2, after being optioned by the Dodgers on June 29 and righty Angel Castro has been activated from the disabled list. Left-handed pitcher Aaron Laffey has been released.

Moylan appeared in 10 games for the Dodgers this season and posted a 1-0 record with a 6.35 ERA. The Australian native is 2-1 with a 3.53 ERA (9 ER/23.0 IP) and two saves in 17 games out of the bullpen for Albuquerque this season. Moylan has eight years of Major League service and is in his first season with Los Angeles.

Castro was activated from the disabled list after being placed on the DL with a left oblique strain on June 4. He is 4-2 with a 3.45 ERA (23ER/60.0IP) in 13 appearances (nine starts) this season. The Dominican native was originally drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 13th round of the 2006 First-Year Player Draft.

Laffey made 12 appearances, 11 starts, with Albuquerque this season. He went 4-3 with a 5.61 ERA (38 ER/61.0 IP) with 29 strikeouts. The Maryland native signed with the Dodgers on April 30 and joined the Isotopes on May 2.
