Wolves Announce Affiliate Players for 2019-20 Season

Des Moines, Iowa - Iowa Wolves General Manager Gianluca Pascucci today announced Lindell Wigginton, Tyus Battle, Barry Brown Jr. and Jordan Murphy have been acquired as affiliate players for the 2019-20 season. All four players signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves before being waived during training camp in October.

Wigginton, 21, played two seasons at Iowa State, averaging 15.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 56 games. In 2019, Wigginton earned Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year honors and was named to the Big 12 All-Tournament Team. He was named to the Big 12 All-Newcomer Team in 2018. The 6-2 guard appeared in five games for the Toronto Raptors in the 2019 MGM Resorts NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, averaging 7.4 points in 15.0 minutes per contest. Wigginton scored 26 points on 8-of-12 shooting with three assists and three steals vs. Philadelphia on July 12.

Battle, 21, played for the Timberwolves in the 2019 MGM Resorts NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, averaging 3.2 points, 1.5 rebounds and 10.8 minutes in six games. Battle averaged 16.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists over three seasons at Syracuse University. The 6-6 guard was named to the 2018-19 All-ACC Third Team and the 2017-18 All-ACC Second Team. As a sophomore and junior, Battle was a finalist for the Jerry West Award given to the nation's best shooting guard. He led the nation and set a Syracuse record for minutes in 2017-18 by averaging 39.0 minutes per game.

Brown, 22, played in seven games for the Timberwolves in the 2019 MGM Resorts NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, averaging 8.0 points, 2.3 rebounds and 16.6 minutes. The 6-3 guard played four seasons at Kansas State, averaging 12.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.8 steals and 32.2 minutes per game. Brown finished his career as the school's all-time leader in games played (139) and steals (254), and second in minutes played (4472). Brown was selected to the 2018-19 All-Big 12 First Team and Big 12 All-Defensive Team and was a semifinalist for the Naismith National Defensive Player of the Year.

Murphy, 22, played for the Timberwolves in the 2019 MGM Resorts NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, averaging 8.9 points and 4.9 rebounds in 14.0 minutes per game over seven games. Murphy played four seasons for the University of Minnesota, averaging 13.5 points and 9.8 rebounds in 133 games. As a senior, he was named All-Big Ten First Team by the media and All-Big Ten Second team by the coaches. He led the Big Ten in rebounding his junior and senior seasons and finished his career ranked second in Big Ten history with 1,307 boards.
