Greensboro Swarm Select Demajeo Wiggins and Max Montana in 2019 NBA G League Draft

(GREENSBORO, N.C.) - The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, today announced the selection of two players in the 2019 NBA G League Draft. With its two picks, Greensboro selected Demajeo Wiggins in the first round (No. 14 overall) and Max Montana in the third round (No. 68).
Wiggins, 22, was a four-year player for Bowling Green State University. The Toledo, Ohio, native started 102 of 129 games with the Falcons, which included averages of 12.5 points and 10.7 rebounds during his senior season. He ranks third in career rebounds (1,066) and tenth in career rebound average (8.3) at the school. Since 1953, Wiggins is one of three players to record at least 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds at BGSU. Wiggins earned All-Mid-American Conference Second Team honors his junior (2018) and senior (2019) seasons.
Montana, 23, spent the 2018-19 playing in Germany with the Hamburg Towers and Giessen 46ers. He averaged 7.3 points and 3.0 rebounds in 34 games overseas. The Calabasas, California, native played collegiately at San Diego State University (2016-18) and Indiana University (2014-15). During his final season as an Aztec, Montana averaged 6.9 points and 3.0 rebounds in 26 games.

The 2019-20 season kicks off on Saturday, November 9, when the Swarm travel to Erie to face the BayHawks (New Orleans Pelicans affiliate). The Swarm's first home game is against the Westchester Knicks (New York Knicks affiliate) for the annual School Day Game for Guilford County Schools on Wednesday, November 13. Opening Night (Friday, November 22) will see the Swarm host the Windy City Bulls (Chicago Bulls affiliate).
