
Santa Cruz Warriors Complete Trade with Austin Spurs, Draft Two Players in 2019 NBA G League Draft

SANTA CRUZ, CA - The Santa Cruz Warriors, the NBA G League affiliate of the Golden State Warriors, have acquired three players from today's 2019 NBA G League Draft. The team completed a trade to acquire the player rights to sixth overall selection Isaiah Reese and a 2020 second round draft pick from the Austin Spurs, sending the player rights of center Kavion Pippen to Cedar Park, Texas. The team also selected guards Vander Blue (41st overall pick) and Jordan Brangers (43rd overall pick) in the second round of the draft.
Reese (6'5, 185, Canisius) played most recently for the Houston Rockets in the 2020 NBA Summer League, logging two points, two assists and two steals in three games over 14 minutes. Reese played three collegiate seasons (2016-19) at Canisius College in Buffalo, New York, averaging 11.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.7 steals over 89 career games (53 starts).
Blue (6'4, 196, Marquette) is a six-year NBA G League veteran who averaged 10.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.21 steals over 39 total games with the Wisconsin Herd (22 games) and Texas Legends (17) during the 2018-19 season. A 2016-17 NBA G League MVP as a member of the South Bay Lakers, Blue owns career NBA G League averages of 21.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.60 steals over 225 games. The Madison, Wisconsin native also has NBA experience with the Boston Celtics (2013-14) and Los Angeles Lakers (2014-15, 2017-18).
Brangers (6'2, 185, South Plains) joins the Santa Cruz Warriors most recently from Eisbaren Bremerhaven of the first tier of Germany's Basketball Bundesliga, averaging 12.7 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 26.0 minutes over 10 games (seven starts). A Louisville, Kentucky native, Brangers averaged 18.8 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 57 games for South Plains College (TX), and earned NJCAA First-Team All American Honors in his 2016-17 freshman campaign.
