Iowa Wolves News Release

DES MOINES, Iowa - The Iowa Wolves season came to an end on Wednesday night after a 116-104 loss to the Stockton Kings at Adventist Health Arena.

The Kings started the first quarter at breakneck speed, which the Wolves seemed unprepared for. Once they found their footing a couple minutes into the game, the first two quarters were back-and-forth and very fast-paced. Stockton outscored Iowa in the first quarter 37-32, but Iowa was able to out-score them in the second quarter, 27-23. The two teams headed into their locker rooms at halftime with Stockton up by just one point.

The third quarter was low-scoring for both teams, but Iowa was held to just 19 points, while Stockton scored 24. Iowa went into the fourth quarter down by six points.

The Wolves were able to regain some of the momentum they had lost in the third quarter during the fourth quarter, but Stockton ultimately outscored Iowa in the fourth, 32-26. With a few minutes remaining in the game, Iowa seemed unable to make a basket, which led to Stockton eventually pulling away. A DaQuan Jeffries three pointer was the dagger that the Kings needed, and the game ended with a score of 116-104.

Enrique Freeman led the Wolves in scoring, tallying another double-double. He had 30 points and 13 rebounds. He was followed by Jalen Crutcher, who had 22 points, five rebounds, and seven assists. Rocco Zikarsky also had a double-double, with 14 points, 10 rebounds, and four blocks. The Wolves shot 36.4% from three, only making eight of their attempted 22. They shot 50% from the field.

The Kings were led by DaQuan Jeffries, who had 27 points. He was followed closely by Patrick Baldwin Jr., who had a double-double with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Jameer Nelson Jr. added 21 points off the bench. Stockton shot 38.5% from three, making 15 out of their 39 attempted. They were 47.4% from the field.
