Remix Advance to Conference Semifinals with Win over Capitanes

MEXICO CITY - The Rip City Remix won their first ever playoff game on the road against the Mexico City Capitanes, 113-108, on Wednesday night. Before tonight's game, the #2 ranked Capitanes had not lost a home game since February 3, when the Remix last visited during the regular season.

The Remix took a commanding 38-24 lead in the first quarter, but hit a scoring slump during the second frame, recording only 16 points. Mexico City took advantage and entered the break with a one-point lead. After regaining the lead early in the third quarter, the Remix pushed the deficit to as many as 13 and held off the Capitanes comeback attempts until the final buzzer. In the second half, the Remix outscored the Capitanes 18-3 in second-chance points.

Alex Reese led the Remix with a 19-point double-double, including 12 rebounds, two assists and three blocks. Two-Way player Chris Youngblood also scored 19 points, along with six rebounds and two assists. Jaylen Martin (13 points, five assists, four rebounds), Javonte Cooke (13 points), Liam Robbins (13 points) and Two-Way player Jayson Kent (12 points, six rebounds) all scored in double-figures in the victory.

The Capitanes were led by former Remix player James Bouknight with 35 points, and seven rebounds, and RJ Melendez with 26 points.
