GRAND CHUTE, Wis. - The Kernels lost 1-0 at Wisconsin in 12 innings on Tuesday night as Rafael Neda's walk-off RBI single broke a scoreless tie. Rain forced a delay of one hour and 19 minutes in the sixth inning, causing the game to end just before midnight.

Neda's one-out RBI single in the bottom of the 12th inning scored Steve Halcomb for the game's only run. Halcomb, who entered the game in the sixth inning after the delay, walked to begin the inning and advanced to second base on a sacrifice bunt by Omar Garcia. Neda's single was sharply hit to left, and Halcomb dove in just before the tag at the plate. It was the third walk-off loss for the Kernels this season.

Jared Wilson (2-2) allowed the lone run of the game in 2 1/3 innings of work in relief. He allowed three total hits while striking out two and walking two.

Zach Quintana and Tristan Archer both went six scoreless innings for Wisconsin, holding the Kernels to four hits in 12 innings. Archer (3-3) went the final six innings for the win in relief, allowing two hits while striking out five and walking one. Quintana pitched the first six innings and exited after the delay, allowing the other two hits while striking out six and walking two.

The Kernels and Timber Rattlers sped into the sixth inning before rain halted the game in the middle of the sixth inning. Aaron Slegers started for the Kernels and pitched five scoreless innings. He allowed two hits and no walks while striking out three. After a one hour and 19 minute rain delay, Brandon Bixler came to the mound for the Kernels. The left-hander worked around a leadoff walk to pitch a scoreless bottom half of the sixth inning. Bixler walked the leadoff man again the seventh inning but recorded two strikeouts and a fly out to end the frame. Bixler went two scoreless innings and collected three strikeouts with no hits and two walks.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, Dallas Gallant came to the mound for the Kernels. Omar Garcia singled with one away, recording the third hit of the night for Wisconsin. After a hit by pitch and a fly out, Garcia advanced to third base. However, a groundout ended the frame and kept the game scoreless through eight full innings. Gallant ended up going two scoreless innings, allowing the one hit while striking out and walking one.

Wilson took over in extra innings for the Kernels. He allowed a two-out single but no runs in the 10th inning. Wisconsin had a good chance to score in the 11th inning after putting two on with a single and a walk. However, Wilson induced a pair of fly outs to right to send it to the 12th inning.

Archer did not allow a hit to the Kernels offense until the 12th inning when the Kernels had an opportunity to take the lead. Bryan Haar singled to lead off the 12th inning and advanced to second on a one-out single by Jason Kanzler that hit off the glove of the pitcher Archer and deflected away. However, a hard line out by Jon Murphy led to a double play to end the scoring threat.
