Winnik, Rouleau reassigned to Phoenix

SAN ANTONIO (Jan. 15, 2007) - The San Antonio Rampage announced today that the Phoenix Coyotes, the Rampage's parent club, have reassigned center Daniel Winnik from San Antonio to the Phoenix RoadRunners, the team's ECHL affiliate. In addition, the Rampage have reassigned defenseman Alexandre Rouleau to the RoadRunners.

Winnik, 21, has scored 11 points (five goals, six assists) in 33 games with the Rampage this season and has been a healthy scratch in five of the last seven games. The former University of New Hampshire Wildcat signed an entry-level contract with the Coyotes on Mar. 31, 2006 after finishing his 2005-06 collegiate season where he was named to the All-Hockey East Second Team. The Coyotes' 2004 entry-level draft pick has played in 40 career AHL games, recording six goals and seven assists.

The 23-year-old Rouleau, who signed an AHL/ECHL two-way contract with San Antonio while attending the Rampage's training camp in September, recorded zero points in three games during his second call-up to San Antonio. Rouleau has totaled two assists and 18 penalty minutes in 18 career AHL regular season games.

The Mont-Laurier, Quebec native was the Pittsburgh Penguins' fourth choice in the third round of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
