Coyotes Assign Jones To San Antonio

GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Michael Barnett announced today that the Coyotes have assigned defenseman Matt Jones to the San Antonio Rampage, the Coyotes American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate.

Jones has registered 1-2-3 and 31 penalty minutes (PIM) in 23 games with the Coyotes this season. The 6-foot, 215-pound defenseman scored his first career NHL goal versus the New York Rangers on Oct. 28. Jones has also collected 1 assist and 21 PIM in 16 games with San Antonio.

The Coyotes selected Jones in the 3rd round (80th overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
