Hamilton Bulldogs News Release


The Hamilton Bulldogs (23-17-1-1) will close out their four-game road trip tomorrow night (Tuesday, January 16th) at 8:00 p.m. when they take on the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights (24-13-3-0) at the Omaha Civic Auditorium. The Bulldogs will return home to Copps Coliseum on Friday, January 19th for a tilt with the Grand Rapids Griffins (20-16-4-2) at 7:30 p.m. Hamilton and Grand Rapids will then meet again to wrap-up the week less than 24 hours later at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 20th at Copps Coliseum.

Hamilton posted a 1-2-0-0 record in three road games last week. The Bulldogs lost both games to the Manitoba Moose by scores of 4-2 on Thursday, January 11th and 3-0 on Friday, January 12th. The 'Dogs however, snapped their four game losing streak on Saturday, January 13th when they defeated the West Division leading Chicago Wolves 6-3.

With 48 points in 42 games this season, the Hamilton Bulldogs currently sit in third-place in the North Division, five points behind the first-place Rochester Americans (53 points in 38 games), and three points behind the second-place Manitoba Moose (51 points in 43 games).

AHL STANDINGS

PLAYER NOTES:

- C Mikhail Grabovski and D Andre Benoit each had a goal and two assists in Chicago on Saturday night (Jan. 13th) to help the Bulldogs snap a four-game losing skid

- D Andre Benoit was named the Pearson Dunn Hardest Working Bulldog of the Game in two of three contests last week (Jan. 12th, Jan. 13th)

- G Jaroslav Halak picked up his 12th win of the season against Chicago and currently leads the AHL in shutouts (5), goals against average (1.87) and save percentage (.938)

- RW Duncan Milroy scored his 9th power play marker of the season against Manitoba (Jan. 11th) and is currently 10th in AHL power play goals. He also leads the Bulldogs in goals scored (17) and is tied for the team lead with Mikhail Grabovski in assists (21)

- RW Zack Stortini leads the AHL in penalty minutes with 158

- Montreal RW Michael Ryder (14-17-31) had a goal vs. Philadelphia (Jan. 11) in a 4-2 win, and one assist and two goals vs. Atlanta (Jan. 9) including the game-winning goal in a 4-2 win
