1.13.07 - Worcester 4 - Springfield 2
Two goals from Brady Leisenring lifted the Sharks to a 4-2 victory on Saturday night, snapping a two-game losing streak for Worcester. The win was the team's third consecutive against Springfield evening the series 3-3-0-0. Thomas Greiss earned his eighth win of the year with a 19-save performance.
1.14.07 - Portland 5 - Worcester 4 SO
A goal and assist from Steve Bernier wasn't enough for the Sharks who fell in shootouts at Portland Sunday evening, 5-4. Nolan Schaefer made 33-saves in the losing effort for the Sharks who wrap up a six game road stretch tomorrow afternoon in Lowell.
PTO Production...
Sharks forwards Brady Leisenring and Josh Prudden combined for five points en route to Worcester's 4-2 win over the Falcons on Saturday night. Leisenring tallied two goals, including the winner, and added one assist, while Prudden registered two assists. For Prudden, it was his seventh and eighth points of the season, while it was Leisenring's first points of the season.
Kaspar Cashes In...
Forward Lukas Kaspar has scored a goal in each of his last two games. Kaspar scored the fourth goal of the season in Springfield, making it his first tally since November 11, 2006. The theory of streaks following streaks could be true as the Sharks forward tallied another goal on Sunday evening.
Point Per Game...
Since being assigned to Worcester from San Jose, forward Steve Bernier has averaged exactly a point per game. In six games played, the gritty go-to guy has scored two goals and assisted on four others for six points. Bernier is also a plus-four in those six games.
An Evening with the Worcester Sharks...
On January 16, 2007 the Worcester Sharks will kick off their inaugural "Evening with the Worcester Sharks" in partnership with Bay State Savings Bank at the Crowne Plaza hotel from 5:30 - 9:00 p.m. The evening will consist of dinner, live and silent auctions, various speakers, and a great opportunity to meet and mingle with the Sharks players and staff. All proceeds to this fantastic event with benefit the Devereux House and Sharks Charities. Tickets to the event are $40 each and $500 per corporate table. Trading Cards...
The Worcester Sharks will give away trading cards to the first 3,000 fans on Friday, January 19, 2007 against the Lowell Devils. The trading cards include the full team, including coaches and FINZ.
