Mullet Madness Night

Houston is 0-1-1-0 all-time against Manchester, with both games coming last season. The Aeros lost a 2-1 overtime decision at home, and fell 4-2 in Manchester.

The Monarchs (22-12-6-1) are in first place in the AHL's Atlantic Division. Manchester features former Aero and 2005-06 AHL Rookie of the Year Patrick O'Sullivan, and also All-Star goaltender Jason LaBarbera, who owns three career shutouts against Houston. The Monarchs have lost two of three after a six-game winning streak. Manchester is in Springfield on Monday and Portland on Wednesday before traveling to Houston.

The Admirals make their first trip to Toyota Center since finishing off the four-game sweep in last season's West Division Final. The Aeros went 2-1-0-1 at home during the regular season against Milwaukee in 2005-06. Houston won the lone meeting this season, 4-2 at Bradley Center on November 15. Bryan Lundbohm and Benoit Pouliot each posted a goal and an assist for Houston. The teams meet seven times in the Aeros' last 38 games of the season. Houston is 34-36-7-2 all-time versus the Admirals in the regular season, including an 18-16-4-2 home mark.

The Admirals (20-14-3-4) have ridden a 4-0-0-1 streak into a tie for third in the West Division with Peoria. Milwaukee plays host to Rochester on Friday and Toronto on Saturday before coming to Houston on Sunday.

Totaled three points (2-1=3) and posted even rating as Aeros went 1-1-0-1 in three games...Had hand in two of Houston's three goals in 3-1 win at IOW on Friday...Has team-best 17 points (9-8=17) in 14 games since being assigned to Aeros...Houston is 5-1-0-1 when Weinhandl scores a goal, 5-1-0-0 when he notches an assist and 6-2-0-1 when he has at least one point.

Notables -

Playing in his 593rd pro game, Houston veteran C Jason Morgan matched a career-high with two goals Saturday in Omaha. Morgan last scored twice more than four seasons ago, 12/21/02 against Manchester. Morgan has five points (4-1=5) in 11 games since returning from a two-month recall/injury absence. Three of Morgan's four goals have tied the game - including both Saturday in Omaha.

Aeros rookie RW Danny Irmen has eight points (3-5=8) in his last eight games, including a career-best three points (1-2=3) Friday in Omaha. Irmen, who is tied for the team lead with six multiple-point games, ranks tied for 24th among AHL rookies with 22 points (11-11=22).

Houston is 4-5 in shootouts this season. The Aeros are the lone AHL team without a game decided in overtime.

The Aeros have allowed the first goal in eight of their last 10 games.

The National Hockey League's Minnesota Wild went won three of four on the road last week and ranks tied for second with Vancouver in the Northwest Division with 51points (24-19-3), just one point behind Calgary...Minnesota hosts Edmonton on Tuesday, travels to Chicago on Friday and hosts the Stars on Saturday...C Wyatt Smith has two assists in 32 games and is averaging 9:22 TOI... RW Joel Ward has one helper in nine contests while averaging 7:34 TOI...D Shawn Belle has one assist in six games and averages 8:04 per game.

The ECHL's Texas Wildcatters went 0-2-0-1 last week and are 0-4-0-2 in their last six...The Wildcatters' 45 points have them in third place in the South Division, three points back of Gwinnett and Florida... Texas continues a six-game road trip Monday in Gwinnett, then Friday and Saturday in Pensacola before returning home Sunday to face Pensacola...D Paul Albers (9-17=26) and D Mike Madill (2-23=25), both Minnesota Wild contracts, rank fifth and tied for sixth, respectively, among all ECHL defensemen despite their rookie status...F Mark Rooneem has 11 points (6-5=11) in 33 games and is currently on recall to Houston...Riley Emmerson has three points (2-1=3) and 76 PIM's in 28 games...C Alex Leavitt has six points (3-3=6) in nine games...G Miroslav Kopriva is 6-1-0-2 with a 2.96 gaa and a .899 save pct. in 15 games...G Matt Yeats, who attended Aeros camp, is 14-8-2-1 with a 3.05 gaa and a .910 save pct.

The Central Hockey League's Austin Ice Bats are 14-13-7 and in third place in the Southeast Division...G Tony Quesada, is 0-1-0 with a 2.04 gaa and a .900 save pct.

Aeros gain three of six points on road

HOU 3, IOW 1; OMA 5, HOU 4 (SO); SAN 6, HOU 0

Friday: Josh Harding made 43 saves, including a critical second period penalty shot, and Mattias Weinhandl posted a goal and an assist, as the Houston Aeros defeated the Iowa Stars 3-1 at Wells Fargo Arena. Benoit Pouliot and Peter Olvecky also scored for Houston.

Saturday: Carsen Germyn scored two goals, Justin Taylor posted a goal and an assist and defenseman Tim Ramholt scored the deciding shootout goal, as the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights defeated Houston 5-4 for their fifth win over the Aeros this season in as many attempts. Kris Chucko also scored and Curtis McElhinney made 21 saves for Omaha.

Jason Morgan scored two goals, Danny Irmen posted a goal and two assists, Mattias Weinhandl also scored and Josh Harding made 35 saves for Houston.

Sunday: Joel Perrault two of San Antonio's four power play goals and David LeNeveu made 35 saves for his first shutout of the season, as the San Antonio Rampage knocked off the Houston Aeros 6-0 at AT&T Center in a game delayed an hour due to Houston's travel delays. Dieter Kochan made 29 saves in his first start of the season for Houston.
