Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
JOHNSTOWN, Pennsylvania - Cincinnati Cyclones Head Coach Chuck Weber won his 100th regular season game and Thomas Beauregard had a fourth goals in a 6-3 win at North Division leader Johnstown on Saturday night. It pushed Cincinnati to 8-7-3, the first time the Cyclones have been above .500 this season. The Chiefs had won ten of their last eleven games prior to the contest with the Cyclones.
The Cyclones got the first two goals, both from Thomas Beauregard, to build a 2-0 edge. The first came 5:50 into the game, as Beauregard netted his eleventh of the season from Olivier Latendresse. The next came a little more than two minutes later-at 8:07-as Beauregard picked up his twelfth from Barret Ehgoetz and Latendresse. Eleven seconds after that Johnstown got on the board with Jason Spence's third score of the campaign.
Cincinnati extended the lead to 3-1 at 6:54 of the second period, as Ben McLeod collected his third goal of the season and third in two nights from Latendresse and Beauregard. It took nearly eight minutes for Cincinnati to expand the lead to three, when Mark VanGuilder picked up his fourth of the year from Jimmy Kilpatrick and Ben Gordon. Again, the Chiefs answered less than a minute later when Trevor Hendrikx got his first of the year at 15:36 and the middle frame ended with the Cyclones on top, 4-2.
A Petr Pohl goal 4:50 into the third period cut the deficit to 4-3, but a late pair of goals from Beauregard closed out the scoring. The first came at 7:04 from McLeod and the last came at 13:05 from Ryan and Ehgoetz. The win was the third straight for the Cyclones.
Kyle Gajewski stopped 21 shots in taking his fourth win of the season.
The Cyclones are 8-7-3 on the season, while Johnstown is 14-5-0. Cincinnati plays the final contest of a three game road trip tomorrow afternoon (November 30) in Trenton at 4pm. The game will be carried on MAX-FM (97.7 and 99.5) as well as on the internet at www.cycloneshockey.com.
