Kinley Earns AHL Call-up to Springfield

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, the proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers and American Hockey League's Springfield Falcons, announced defenseman Cleve Kinley (KIHN-lee) has been recalled from the Thunder to Springfield.

Kinley, 24, leads all Thunder defensemen with nine points (1g-8a) in 18 ECHL games this season, amassing a +2 rating and 39 penalty minutes.

The 6-foot, 190-pound defenseman split time during the 2007-08 campaign with the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins and ECHL's Texas Wildcatters. Kinley ranked second on the Wildcatters in scoring among defensemen collecting six goals and 28 assists for 34 points in 60 regular season games.

Kinley led Texas in scoring during the Kelly Cup Playoffs last season, totaling five goals and eight assists for 13 points in nine post-season contests. Kinley has played in 11 career AHL games, all with Grand Rapids, picking up two assists and four penalty minutes.

The Thunder return to play tonight against the Fresno Falcons from Stockton Arena, starting at 7:30 p.m. The game is available on radio at 1420 KSTN and for viewing on the internet for a $7 charge at http://www.stocktonthunder.com/ (courtesy of B2 Networks).
