Stockton Thunder News Release

STOCKTON, Calif. - Jarrett Konkle and Kyle Hagel scored two goals each to help rally the Fresno Falcons out of a two-goal hole and send the Stockton Thunder (7-9-3, 19 points) to a 3-2 loss before a crowd of 6,224 at the Stockton Arena on Saturday.

Ryan Huddy scored his fourth point in two games with a goal and Adam Huxley tallied his third goal of the season. Fresno's Michael Ouzas earned the win in net with a 16-save effort, countered by rookie Andrew Perugini's output with 23 saves in the loss.

Just two seconds into the game, Garet Hunt and Hagel dropped the gloves and skated from both ends of the center face-off circle, meeting each other at center ice to exchange blows.

The first goal of the night came during a power-play opportunity off the stick of Huxley for a 1-0 Thunder lead, who tipped in a rebound that dribbled into the net after Constant threw a hard, quick wrist shot from the left point and off of Ouzas at the 7:27 mark of the opening period.

Huddy then hiked the Thunder lead to 2-0 at 15:27 when he fought off a check from a Falcon defenseman at the left side of the crease and stretched his stick out towards a pass from Cory Urquhart, sending it past Ouzas while dragging a defender through the crease.

Fresno registered their first goal on a power play in the second period at 1:55 when Jarrett Konkle fired a shot at Perugini that bounced right back at Konkle in the mid-slot, who buried his second attempt.

Jeff Kyrzakos was sent off the ice with 32 seconds left in the second, collecting a five minute boarding major for sending Daryl Marcoux hard into the corner. With Kyrzakos still serving his penalty early in the third period, Mike Salekin picked up a hooking call that put the Falcons on a two-man advantage.

Konkle tied the game at 2-2 at 4:14 of the final period during the five-on-three as he controlled the puck from the right face-off circle, glided it towards the net then snapped a wrist shot over the right shoulder of Perugini.

Fresno followed by taking their first lead of the game at 3-2 with 6:18 remaining when Dustin Sproat broke down the left boards and guided a one-timed pass to Hagel, who shoved the puck over an outstretched Perugini for the eventual game winner.

Hagel buried an empty-net goal from center ice to beat the final horn, sealing the game at a 4-2 score.
