TRENTON, N.J. - Tyler Burton's hat trick goal with 5:46 left in regulation catapulted the Trenton Devils to a come-from-behind 7-6 win against the hottest team in the ECHL, the Florida Everblades.

Burton knocked in a rebound from a Dan Eves shot to give the Devils their only lead of the game, which proved to be the most important one. It was Burton's first career hat trick.

The Devils appeared to be on their heels after the first period as the Everblades jumped to a 5-2 lead after twenty minutes of play.

The second period proved to be much different, as the Devils found their legs and started to outplay the Everblades. Dave Leaderer started the scoring in the second period with a slap shot from the point that beat David Leggio to put the Devils within two.

Chris Poli then added his second of the game by crashing the net after a Jeff Prough shot, allowing the puck to stumble into the open net.

The game was tied at the 11:51 mark of the second period at five-all when Prough's wrist shot from the top of the circle targeted the top corner of the net on the power play.

Florida re-gained the lead 32 seconds into the third period with a power play goal by Jacob Micflikier, his third of the game. Burton tied it up just over four minutes later with a power play goal of his own, his second of the game.

Burton then scored the game-winning goal with 5:46 remaining to seal the win for the Devils, who snapped the Everblades' 10-game winning streak.

Despite giving up five goals in the first period, Charlie Effinger saved 18 of the next 19 Florida shots to give the Devils a deserving victory. The Devils went 2-for-5 on the power play, while Florida was 3-for-8.

The Devils return to action Sunday afternoon against the defending Kelly Cup Champion Cincinnati Cyclones, with the puck drop scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Fans can listen to the free audio broadcast on www.trentondevils.com, courtesy of B2 Networks.
