Leading the Nailers were Thomas Beauregard who had a pair of goals late in the third. Jordan Fox and Mitch Ganzak each contributed a goal for the Nailers while several others picked up assists. Beauregard registered a pair of late goals to close the deficit and extend his goal scoring streak to 4 games (6 goals). He has 24 goals to lead the American Conference and move into 2nd in the ECHL. Toledo took an early lead as Malcolm MacMillan centered a pass to Ryan Stokes who got it past Michael-Lee Teslak to give Toledo an early 1-0 lead 1:27 into the first. Former Wheeling Nailer Luis Tremblay also picked up an assist. Later in the period Evan Rankin got a long rebound and popped it past a diving Teslak making it 2-0 Toledo.

Toledo continued to build on their lead in the second scoring 3 goals in the first 5 minutes of the second. Toledo got a quick transition as Rankin passed up ice to Adam Hobson who fired it in 35 seconds into the second. A slap shot goal by Chris Robertson put Toledo up 4-0 and Justin Hodgman redirected a shot by Chris Robinson that gave Toledo a 5-0 lead.

Mitch Ganzak made a long pass down the ice to Jordan Fox who snuck behind the Toledo defense and got his 11th of the year on a breakaway goal that put the Nailers on the board 5-1 at 6:23 in the second. Dan Henningson got the other assist.

Andrew Lord took a high stick to the face at 9:20 in the second giving the Nailers a 4:00 power play, but could not come up with a goal to cut the 4 goal Toledo lead.

The Nailers flipped the switch on the power play and Ganzak fired it in 5 hole, for his 4th of the year, past Alec Richards to cut it to 5-2 at 1:05 in the third. Ganzak was selected to play for the American Conference at the ECHL All-Star Game on January 20th in Ontario, California. Ganzak has 16 assists this year to tie for 3rd in the league among defensemen.

At the beginning of a power play Stokes chipped it in to stretch the Toledo lead to 6-2 at 7:19 in the third. A minute and a half later, Mike Hedden got a rebound and shoveled it in past Teslak right off of the draw, 7-2 Toledo. J.C. Sawyer shot a slapper from the high slot past Teslak 12:00 in the third for Toledo's 3rd power play goal of the night 8-2. Toledo went 3-6 on the power play.
