13th ECHL All-Star Skills Competition Lineups Announced

PRINCETON, N.J. -The ECHL All-Stars will take the ice at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, Calif. on Tuesday at 7 p.m. PT for the 13th Annual ECHL All-Star Skills Competition presented by Reebok Hockey and brought to you by Toyota and the City of Ontario.

The Ontario Reign and the Citizens Business Bank Arena will host the 18th Annual ECHL All-Star Game presented by Reebok Hockey and brought to you by Toyota and the City of Ontario on Wednesday at 7 p.m. PT.

Both events will be broadcast live online free of charge on B2TV.com. The video broadcast will require a high-speed internet connection and a current version of Microsoft Windows Media Player.

Competing in the Sher-wood Hockey Puck Control Relay will be Matt Pierce of Cincinnati, Sam Roberts of Gwinnett and Justin Donati of Elmira for the American Conference and Evan Barlow of Idaho, Chris D'Alvise of Stockton and John Lammers of Alaska for the National Conference. In the one-on-one Puck Control Relay sponsored by Sher-wood Hockey, the American Conference will be represented by Jacob Micflikier of Florida and the National Conference will be represented by Peter Lenes of Ontario.

The Reebok Fastest Skater competition will feature Brandon Buck of Florida, Maxime Gratchev of Elmira and Matt Schepke of Charlotte for the American Conference against John Swanson of Idaho, Eric Regan of Bakersfield and Adam Miller of Las Vegas. The ECHL record for fastest skater is 13.395 by Jeff Lazaro in 1998.

In the Reebok 8.0.8 Hardest Shot competition, the American Conference will have Drew Paris of Gwinnette, Matt Pierce of Cincinnati, J.C. Sawyer of Toledo and A.J. Thelen of Florida against Brendan Milnamow of Idaho, Nick Mazzolini of Alaska, Sasha Pokulok of Bakersfield and David Walker of Ontario. The record for the hardest shot is 102.2 mph by Jon Awe of Gwinnett in 2007 while the team record is 96.05 mph by the Southern Conference in 1999.

In the Bull Outdoor Products Rapid Fire competition, the American Conference will have Mitch Ganzak of Wheeling and Maxime Tanguay of Toledo shooting against David Shantz of Victoria, Rick Cleaver of Kalamazoo and Connor Shields of Johnstown against Richard Bachman of Idaho and Nikita Kashirsky of South Carolina and Justin Donati of Elmira against Timo Pielmeier of Bakersfield. The National Conference will have Taylor Ellington of Victoria and Evan Barlow of Idaho shooting against Todd Ford of South Carolina, Vic Bartley of Utah and John Lammers of Alaska against Jeremy Smith of Cincinnati and Judd Blackwater of Stockton and A.J. Perry of Utah against Braden Holtby of South Carolina. The individual record for most saves is 10 of 10 by Ryan MacDonald of Fresno in 2007, Dan Ellis of Idaho in 2004 and Brian Leitza of Baton Rouge while the team record is 26 of 30 by the Western Conference in 2004.

In the MeiGray Group Accuracy Shooting Competition, the shooters for the American Conference will be Ben Gordon of Reading, Jeff Prough of Trenton and Zach Tarkir of South Carolina while the passers will be Jacob Micflikier of Florida and J.C. Sawyer of Toledo. The shooters for the National Conference will be Ryan Kinasewich of Utah, Shawn Weller of Alaska and Greg Hogeboom of Ontario while the passers will be Chris D'Alvise of Stockton and David Walker of Ontario. The individual record for most targets hit is 4 of 4 by Wes Goldie of Victoria in 2008 while the team record is 11 of 19 by the Northern Conference in 2003.

In the Ice Town Breakaway Relay for the National Conference, David Shantz of Victoria will face Nikita Kashirsky of South Carolina, Drew Paris of Gwinnett, Rick Cleaver of Kalamazoo, amateur Elan Dunaev, Matt Schepke of Charlotte, A.J. Sawyer of Toledo, Ben Gordon of Reading and Justing Donati of Elmira. For the American Conference, Todd Ford of South Carolina will face A.J. Perry of Utah, Nick Mazzolini of Alaska, Taylor Ellington of Victoria, amateur Daniel Hines, Eric Regan of Bakersfield, John Swanson of Idaho and David Walker of Ontario while Jeremy Smith of Cincinnati will face Adam Miller of Las Vegas, Brendan Milnamow of Idaho, Judd Blackwater of Stockton, amateur Scott Hansen, Vic Bartley of Utah, Evan Barlow of Idaho and Peter Lenes of Ontario and Braden Holtby of South Carolina will face Shawn Weller of Bakersfield, Chris D'Alvise of Stockton, John Lammers of Alaska, amateur Matt Jolliff, Sasha Pokulok of Bakersfield, Ryan Kinasewich of Utah and Greg Hogeboom of Ontario. The record for most goals scored is eight by two teams, most recently by the National Conference in 2006, while the record for most team saves is 16 by the American Conference in 2007 and the record for most individual saves is 6 of 6 by six goaltenders, most recently by Kris Mayotte of Johnstown and John Murray of Ontario in 2009.

There have been 58 players from the All-Star Game who have gone on to play in the National Hockey League, including 33 since 2002 when the lineups began having players who coaches felt were prospects to move up to a higher level.

The third class will be inducted into the the ECHL Hall of Fame on Jan. 20, 2010 during a luncheon ceremony at the Hilton Ontario Airport, the official host hotel of the 2010 ECHL All-Star Game presented by Reebok Hockey and brought to you by Toyota and the City of Ontario. The featured speaker at the ECHL Hall of Fame luncheon will be Hockey Hall of Fame member and Los Angeles Kings President of Business Operations Luc Robitaille.

The past seven ECHL All-Star Games have generated more than $1 million each for the local economy as guests, players, coaches and fans occupy hundreds of hotel rooms and spend three days in the host city.

The Stanley Cup and the Patrick J. Kelly Cup will both be on display throughout the event, marking the 10th time in the last 11 years that the NHL championship trophy and the ECHL championship trophy have been displayed together at the All-Star Game.
