Stingrays Ready to Showcase Talent in 2010 All-Star Skills Competition

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays announced today that forward Nikita Kashirsky and goaltenders Todd Ford and Braden Holtby will compete in the Bull Outdoor Products Rapid Fire Competition and defenseman Zach Tarkir will shoot in the MeiGray Group Accuracy Shooting Contest at the 2010 ECHL All-Star Skills Competition on January 19 in Ontario, California. All four players will compete in the Ice Town Breakaway Relay.

In the Bull Outdoor Products Rapid Fire Competition, Kashirsky will be joined with Elmira's Justin Donati and shooting against Timo Pielmeier of Bakersfield. Ford will face Taylor Ellington of Victoria and Evan Barlow of Idaho while Holtby stands against Judd Blackwater of Stockton and A.J. Perry of Utah.

Tarkir will shoot in the MeiGray Group Accuracy Shooting Contest. Passing to him will be Jacob Micflikier of Florida and J.C. Sawyer of Toledo.

In the Ice Town Breakaway Relay, goaltender David Shantz of Victoria will face Kashirsky, Drew Paris of Gwinnett, Rick Cleaver of Kalamazoo, amateur Elan Dunaev, Matt Schepke of Charlotte, A.J. Thelen of Florida and Maxime Tanguay of Toledo while goaltender Richard Bachman of Idaho will face Connor Shields of Johnstown, Sam Roberts of Gwinnett, Matt Pierce of Cincinnati, amateur Taylor Portesi, Jeff Prough of Trenton, Tarkir and Brandon Buck of Florida.

Ford will face A.J. Perry of Utah, Nick Mazzolini of Alaska, Taylor Ellington of Victoria, amateur Daniel Hines, Eric Regan of Bakersfield, John Swanson of Idaho and David Walker of Ontario. Holtby faces Shawn Weller of Bakersfield, Chris D'Alvise of Stockton, John Lammers of Alaska, amateur Matt Jolliff, Sasha Pokulok of Bakersfield, Ryan Kinasewich of Utah and Greg Hogeboom of Ontario.

The Stingrays battle the Kalamazoo Wings Saturday, January 16 at 7:05 p.m. for FREE PARKING and Tailgate Saturday! The weekend continues on Sunday as the Stingrays host the Gwinnett Gladiators at a special start time of 12:30 p.m. for Dog Days of Winter with Pet Helpers. Fans can bring their dogs to the matinee contest for only $5 with all the proceeds going towards Pet Helpers. Sunday is also Kid's Day featuring $5 kid's tickets. It is also Adopt-a-Dog Sunday with Camp Bow Wow. Be sure to stop by their table on the main concourse to see the Adoptable Dog of the Night. Ticket packages and individual tickets are on sale now.
