
Blackwater, D'Alvise Named To All-Star Skills Events

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, the proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers and American Hockey League's Springfield Falcons, announced in conjunction with the ECHL that all-star left winger Judd Blackwater and center Chris D'Alvise are scheduled to compete in the 13th Annual ECHL All-Star Skills Competition presented by Reebok Hockey and brought to you by Toyota and the City of Ontario on Tuesday, Jan. 19 at 7:00 p.m.
Blackwater has been selected to compete in the Bull Outdoor Products Rapid Fire competition for the National Conference, teaming with A.J. Perry of Utah against goaltender Braden Holtby of South Carolina. Additionally, he will also skate in the Ice Town Breakaway Relay, facing goaltender Jeremy Smith of Cincinnati.
D'Alvise has been selected to compete in the Sher-wood Hockey Puck Control Relay for the National Conference, teaming with Evan Barlow of Idaho and John Lammers of Alaska. He will also serve as a passer in the MeiGray Group Accuracy Shooting Competition and compete in the Ice Town Breakaway Relay, facing Holtby.
Blackwater, 22, leads the Thunder with 14 goals this season and is tied for fifth in the ECHL with seven power-play goals, while ranking second on the team in scoring with 28 points (14g-14a) in 32 games.
D'Alvise, 23, leads Thunder rookies with 12 goals this year and 22 points (12g-10a) in 31 games and paces the team with three game-winning goals this year.
Blackwater and D'Alvise are two of 18 players on the National Conference roster making their first appearance in the ECHL All-Star Game.
The Ontario Reign and the Citizens Business Bank Arena will host the 18th Annual ECHL All-Star Game presented by Reebok Hockey and brought to you by Toyota and the City of Ontario on Wednesday at 7 p.m. PT.
Both events will be broadcast live online free of charge on B2TV.com. The video broadcast will require a high-speed internet connection and a current version of Microsoft Windows Media Player.
The Thunder was voted "Best Local Sports Team" by readers of the San Joaquin Magazine, is a two-time recipient of the ECHL "Award of Excellence," has led the ECHL in attendance for four consecutive seasons and drew 223,854 fans to Stockton Arena in 2008-09.
