Wall Gets First Shutout of Regular Season

At Sport Mart Place in Kamloops, BC the Everett Silvertips defeat the Kamloops Blazers 3-0 for their first shutout of the regular season.

Mitch Love opened up the scoring on a power play goal halfway through the second period with assists from teammates Shaun Heshka and Marc Desloges. Less than a minute later on another power play, Torrie Wheat fired one through the pipes with help from Karel Hromas. Mark Kress finished the tally early in the third period with Curtis Billsten and Brennan Zasitko making the assists. Michael Wall, getting his first shutout of the season, made saves on all 31 shots.

Everett went 2 for 7 on the power play tonight while Kamloops went 0 for 6 on the extra man advantage. Shots on goal for the Silvertips were 24 while Kamloops had 31.

The Silvertips' record moves to 2-0 heading back to the Everett Events Center on October 1st for the season home opener to face off against the I-5 rivals to the south, the Portland Winterhawks. The puck drops at 7:05pm while the pre-game show begins broadcasting at 6:25pm on NorthSound 1380.
