Wheat Kings Dominate Warriors Friday

MOOSE JAW S.K - The Brandon Wheat Kings offense explodes Friday night as they defeat the Moose Jaw Warriors 11-2.

It was an ugly start for the Wheat Kings with the Warriors scoring a pair of goals in the opening 69 seconds of the game. First it was Ryder Korczak who scores hhis 12th of the year only 21 seconds into the game then 1:09 into the game Hayden Lolacher collects a Nick Jones rebound to make it 2-0 Warriors. Nick Jones would dial it in for the renainder of the period making a couple big saves. Nate Danielson would get the Warriors on the board with a powerplay goal assisted by Nolan Ritchie and Calder Anderson. Then late in the first, Zakhar Polshakov scores with a shot from the high slot to tie it up at two heading into the second frame.

It was all Wheat Kings in the second period scoring 4 goals in the span of 1:50 and added a couple more. Goals came from Luke Shipley, Mason Ward, Rylen Roersma, Brett Hyland, Roger McQueen and Calder Anderson. Heading into the third frame, Zakhar Polshakov had 3 points, with plenty of others beginning the third with multi point evenings. Before Friday night, the most goals the Wheat Kings have scored in a single game was 5. After 40 minutes in Moose Jaw, the Brandon Wheat Kings had 8.

Evan Groening would score his 3rd of the season in the final frame to make it 9-2 Wheat Kings off a Nolan Ritchie feed. Tony Wilson and Nolan Ritchie would add a couple more to give the Wheat Kings an 11-2 win on the road.
