Rysavy, Czechia Fall to Sweden in Overtime at World Juniors

Martin Rysavy and Team Czechia lost for the first time at the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship on Thursday.

Czechia dropped a 3-2 overtime game to Sweden, who remained undefeated in the round robin.

Rysavy finished minus-two in 12:44 of ice time during the third game of the tournament for Czechia.

Czechia now has two wins and an overtime loss in the round robin, putting them in second place in Group A, one point behind Sweden.

Both teams will finish the round robin on New Year's Eve as Rysavy and Czechia take on Germany, while Sweden battles Canada, who moved into third place, one point behind Czechia, with an 11-0 win over Austria.

Robert Baco and Slovakia will take on Latvia on Friday. Baco will serve a one-game suspension in the game.

Slovakia finishes the round robin against Switzerland on Saturday.
