Regina Pats News Release

Prince Albert, Sask. - Tanner Brown's third goal of the season at 3:52 of the overtime frame gave the Regina Pats a 4-3 win over the Prince Albert Raiders Friday night at the Art Hauser Centre. The win ended the Pats' three-game losing streak and helped the Pats end 2022 on a high note.

Easton Armstrong (13th), Borya Valis (14th), and Alexander Suzdalev (21st) scored first-period markers to give the Pats a 3-0 lead which they carried into the third period. The Raiders stormed back in the final 20 minutes with goals from Carson Latimer (10th), Landon Kosior (12th), and Gabe Ludwig (fifth) to help send the game into overtime.

Brown capped off a three point game with his first career overtime winner giving Regina a much needed two points, with a rematch against Prince Albert scheduled for January 1 at 4:00 p.m.

Drew Sim finished strong, especially in the overtime period where he stopped 10 shots and blocked 41 of 44 shots directed his way for the win. Max Hildebrand stopped 25 of 29 Pats shots in the Raiders loss.

THE GOALS

First Period

REG 1-0 at 7:06 - Easton Armstrong (13), assisted by Luke Bateman // Bateman chipped a loose puck from the red line up to Armstrong who skated into the Raiders zone on his off-wing and fired a laser past Hildebrand to give the Pats a 1-0 lead.

REG 2-0 at 14:58 - Borya Valis (14), assisted by Tanner Brown and Alexander Suzdalev (PP) // With the Pats on a powerplay and the Raiders on a delayed penalty, Brown tried to give the puck to a Raiders player but the Raiders decided not to touch it and Valis picked up the puck and threw it toward the Raiders net and it somehow beat Hildebrand to give the Pats a 2-0 lead.

REG 3-0 at 16:23 - Alexander Suzdalev (21), assisted by Tanner Brown and Easton Armstrong (PP) // From the left circle, Suzdalev ripped a shot bar-down past a well-screened Hildebrand to give the Pats a 3-0 lead.

Second Period

No scoring.

Third Period

PA 3-1 at 1:35 - Carson Latimer (10), assisted by Harrison Lodewyk // A turnover at the Pats line led to a two-on-one where Latimer finished a one-timed pass from Lodewyk to get the Raiders on the board, now down 3-1.

PA 3-2 at 7:11 - Landon Kosior (12), assisted by Sloan Stanick and Ryder Ritchie (PP) // With the Raiders on the first half of a four-minute advantage, Kosior's long-range shot beat a screened Sim to his blocker side to pull the Raiders to within one at 3-2.

PA 3-3 at 15:08 - Gabe Ludwig (5), assisted by Carson Latimer // The Raiders won a battle for the puck behind the Pats net and with Sim looking to his right, Ludwig tucked the puck past Sim's left pad to tie the game up at 3-3.

Overtime

REG 4-3 at 3:52 - Tanner Brown (3), assisted by Alexander Suzdalev and Layton Feist // With the teams playing three-on-three, Suzdalev made a nice move around a Raiders defender and sent slick backhand pass to Brown who had just come onto the ice on a change and he wired the puck past Hildebrand to give the Pats the win.
