Americans Earn Overtime Point, Fall 4-3 to Winterhawks

Tri-City hit the road today, taking on the Winterhawks in Portland. Despite a strong performance, the Americans fell 4-3 in overtime to the Winterhawks, their first overtime loss of the season.

Rookie defenseman Merrek Arpin opened scoring with his first ever WHL goal two minutes into the game but Tri-City was unable to hold a lead for long.

Jake Sloan led the Ams with a goal and pair of assists. Lukas Dragicevic also scored for Tri-City, extending his historic point streak to 26 games.

Jared Picklyk played in net, his second start with Tri-City, turning aside 43 of 47 shots faced.

Tri-City has struggled on the road - now losing their last seven road games (0-5-1-1), but excelled at home - winning their last seven at the Toyota Center.
